How to Add an Email Account on iPhone/iPad Using IMAP Server

Are you tired of missing important work emails while working outside your office? Setting up an email account on your iPhone or iPad is a great way to stay connected and productive. In this tutorial, we'll show you how to add an email account supported by a custom mail server using the IMAP protocol.

Step 1: Go to Settings

To start, open the 'Settings' app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap on 'Passwords & Accounts' to access the email settings.

Step 2: Add New Account

Tap on 'Add Account' and then choose 'Other'. This will allow you to add a custom email account using IMAP server.

Step 3: Fill in Email Details

Fill in your email address, password, and other details. Make sure to type the Port number correctly, especially the upper and lower case letters. The User Name may be equal to your email address or not, depending on your mail provider's configuration.

Important Notes

* If the Outgoing Mail Server is different from the Incoming Mail Server, you need to fill in all fields for both servers.

* You can add other kinds of accounts such as iCloud, Gmail, and more by choosing them from the list.

Step 4: Choose IMAP Protocol

Choose the 'IMAP' protocol to receive emails on your iPhone or iPad. Fill in the Host Name and Outgoing Mail Server details.

Step 5: Add Account

Tap 'Next' and then 'Add Account'. Your email account is now added, and you can start receiving and sending emails using Apple's 'Mail' app.

Deleting an Email Account

If you want to delete an email account from your iPhone or iPad, go back to the 'Passwords & Accounts' settings and tap on the email account you want to delete. Tap 'Delete Account' to confirm.
